Metal Surgery was established in 1970 and is highly regarded for the specialist engineering services it provides which would otherwise be unavailable locally to many other businesses based in Cornwall We also have our own unique process (the ‘Metal Surgery’ process, after which the business is named) for repairing fractured castings, such as cast iron or alloys, which would be difficult or impossible to repair by other means, or which cannot be replaced. This valuable service is not widely available elsewhere and over the past few years the business has been approached by many customers, not only in the UK but also Europe, Africa and from as far afield as the United States We pride ourselves on our highly skilled workforce which is able to offer effective and practical solutions to complex engineering problems. We also offer an in-situ machining service at any location, worldwide, ashore or afloat where for example, it is not feasible to move heavy plant and machinery for repair. In 2006 we moved to a larger, 10,000 square foot factory unit on the Kernick Industrial Estate in Penryn, on the outskirts of Falmouth, close to the industrial and maritime centre of Cornwall. The additional space is now configured as a bespoke production line which is used for small to medium scale manufacturing and production, fabricating and building to our customers requirements. Demand for this facility has been excellent and we are presently building drilling rigs for Dando Rigs Ltd, for the UK market as well as for export, in addition to the work being undertaken for A&P Waste Handling We’d like to discuss your own manufacturing or repair and maintainance needs with you and can offer you a practical and cost-effective solution to your engineering requirements
